DESCRIPTION The catalogue to the exhibition Systems and Patterns, which presents contemporary art from the Middle East, contains an introductory text by Nevenka Šivavec, who explains that the idea for the exhibition arose from the extensive research on the history of the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts, and the text The Orient is Everywhere, which addresses the issues of preconceived ideas and dilemmas of universalism. The publication also includes a presentation of exhibiting artists with colour reproductions of works, photographs of the exhibition set-up, as well as the text by curator, critic and great connoisseur of the Middle East, Nat Muller, entitled Defying Definition: Contemporary Art and Cultural Practice in the Middle East. The exhibition was curated by Nevenka Šivavec.
